Embarkation and excursion to the beach of Agios Ioannis with its stunning azure waters. Next, we will head to the nearby Kalamí beach. In front of us stands the Admiral’s Island, also known as the Souda Islet, which we will visit next. This small but historically significant island gets its name from the presence of the Venetian fortress that dominates its summit. The fortress was built by the Venetians in the 16th century to protect the Souda Bay, which was a strategic naval location. The fortifications of the fortress, along with other defensive structures of the time, such as the Itzedin fortress on the coast, protected the bay’s entrance from enemy attacks. During the Venetian and later the Ottoman period, the island was used for military purposes. Today, the ruins of the fortress remain and are a point of archaeological and historical interest. The waters surrounding the island are crystal clear and perfect for swimming. Additionally, there is the opportunity to find natural clay along its shores, which is often used for natural skin treatments. Next, we will visit the Asprá coastline, with its turquoise waters, followed by our last stop, Sosorides, a very small beach surrounded by a small cove.
