Traditional Villages of Apokoronas

A full-day private experience that explores the authentic side of the Cretan countryside through history, nature and traditional village life. This tour combines cultural landmarks with relaxed stops in some of the most picturesque locations.

The journey begins at the ancient city of Aptera, where you will explore important ruins and enjoy panoramic views over Souda Bay. A short stop at a traditional café follows, offering a glimpse into local daily life.

The route continues to Vrisses, a green village known for its flowing waters and shaded areas under large plane trees. You will have time to walk around and enjoy the peaceful natural setting.

Next, you will visit Gavalochori, a traditional village with preserved architecture, narrow streets, and historical elements such as Venetian wells and a folklore museum.

The tour concludes in Vamos, one of the most well-kept villages of the region, where you will enjoy a meal with authentic local flavors in a relaxed setting.

Throughout the day, you will travel through scenic routes with green landscapes, countryside views and traditional villages.

Pickup and drop-off are included from Chania and surrounding areas. The tour is private for groups of up to 8 people, accompanied by a local professional licensed English-speaking driver.
