Daily Tour to Traditional Villages & Local Winery
A full-day private experience that combines history, culture and local gastronomy through some of the most authentic inland locations. This tour offers a balanced journey between archaeological sites, traditional villages and local wine culture.
The experience begins at the ancient city of Aptera, one of the most important archaeological sites in western Crete. With origins dating back to the Minoan period, the site features Roman baths, large cisterns and impressive ruins, along with panoramic views over Souda Bay. A short stop at a local café follows, offering a glimpse into everyday village life.
The route continues to the Monastery of Agios Georgios in Kryonerida, known for its historical olive mill with multiple arches and traditional presses, reflecting earlier methods of olive oil production.
You will then visit a local winery, where you will explore vineyards, learn about production and enjoy a guided wine tasting experience.
The tour concludes in the traditional village of Vamos, known for its preserved architecture and relaxed atmosphere, where you will enjoy a meal with authentic local flavors.
Throughout the day, you will travel through scenic routes with green landscapes, countryside views and traditional villages.
Pickup and drop-off are included from Chania and surrounding areas. The tour is private for groups of up to 8 people, accompanied by a local professional licensed English-speaking driver.
