Excursion at Seitan Limania & more

Marathi – Seitan Limania – Kamares – Aspra – Admiral Island – Sosorides – Marathi Island
Starting from the port of Marathi, we will head towards the famous cove and beach of Seitan Limania, an impressive natural location featuring a series of narrow, deep gorges that lead to small bays with turquoise waters. The name “Seitan” comes from the Turkish word for “devil,” referring to the steep and rugged geological formations of the area.
We will dive into the turquoise crystal-clear waters, and if you wish, you can disembark from the boat onto the beach at Seitan Limania. This small beach features white sand and fine pebbles, surrounded by high, steep cliffs.
Next, we will visit the Kamáres, another stunning location with crystal-clear waters, ideal for snorkeling. Boarding the boat again, we’ll head to the Asprá coastline with its beautiful azure waters and then continue to the Admiral’s Island, also known as Souda Islet. This is a small but historically significant islet named after the Venetian fortress that dominates its peak. The fortress was built by the Venetians in the 16th century to protect the Gulf of Souda, a strategically important naval location. The fortress fortifications, along with other defensive structures of the era, such as the fortress of Izzedin on the coast, protected the entrance of the gulf from enemy attacks. During Venetian and later Ottoman rule, the islet was used for military purposes. Today, the ruins of the fortress remain and are of archaeological and historical interest. The surrounding waters are pristine and perfect for swimming. Additionally, natural clay can be found on the shores, often used for natural skin treatments.
We will then visit Sosorides, a very small beach nestled within a tiny cove. The last stop on this 4-hour excursion is Marathi Island, a small, uninhabited islet known for its natural beauty and tranquility. The islet is surrounded by turquoise, crystal-clear waters, making it ideal for swimming, diving, and snorkeling. The area around the islet is renowned for its rich marine life and beautiful seabeds, attracting nature and sea enthusiasts.
